1. Download the latest Air Version for Linux here. Im using Adobe AIR 1.5.1 Linux , Español | 13.0 MB on Ubuntu 8.04.2
2. I like to have my applications in the /opt/ folder so my next step was:
sudo mv AbodeAIRInstaler.bin /opt/

cd /opt/

sudo chmod 777 AdobeAIRInstaler.bin

./AdobeAIRInstaller.bin
